"Mr. Gray" is a very soft, sweet and lovable male cat. My husband and I rescued him from certain death and have fostered him for about 2 months now. But Mr. Gray is a very special kitty who needs a special home. After his checkup with our veterinarian, who states he is approximately 2 years old, his tests revealed that he has Feline FIV. Now this isn't as bad as it sounds; in fact, Mr. Gray will live to a ripe old age and be a healthy old boy as long as he remains an indoor cat. He has had all of his shots, is clear of worms, fleas and earmites (actually, he never had any of the last two!!) and he is neutered. He is symptom free, and as long as he's well cared for, he can and will live to a good long life just like other cats. This is not the same as feline leukemia, which is a very devastating disease to cats. He tested negative for that one, thank goodness. So if you or any one you know is willing to give this little sweet cuddly boy a good home, let us know. The only requirement is that he must either be the only kitty in the home, or he can be placed in a home that already has an FIV positive cat. He cannot transmit this condition to people...only to other cats, and only through direct contact like a bite. But that's a moot point if he's an "only" or there is another FIV positive cat in the home. We are not able to keep him because we have 6 cats who are long-time family pets, all of whom are FIV negative. Please consider adopting this great fella. He really is a very, very affectionate boy, and he will definitely reward his owner with lots of love and affection. I volunteer for Second Chance Pets, a VERY SMALL rescue. A few days ago they got an email from a woman located in Moorestown, now it just happened to be 3 blocks away.
She said there was an injured cat on her porch for 3 days now, and the police and animal control would do nothing, well animal control said they would put him down if she caught him, but she was afraid.
I went over as soon I was was called with a towel and crate, he came to me cried and yes was/is hurt. I wrapped the towel around him and carried his HUGE body to the crate.
I cleaned his wounds, and crated him on my porch. I ran to the rescue with him, She helped me clean him up, checked him over and made a vet appointment for him, which was this morning. This rescue covered all his medical needs.
Ginseng is fine, will heal and was neutered. I can keep him crated for a few days, but sadly he is FIV Positive.

Ginseng is FeLV Negative. Negative for ear mites, food allergy, eosinophile complex. He was neutered, had a Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Panleukopenia Vaccine and was wormed. Will take him for his 2nd shot so he is protected.
He also was given his rabies.
He can not be re-released, and no one from the neighborhood will offer to care for him. I have right now 12 cats, who are healthy and neg (-), so I can not risk them getting anything, also I have outdoor cats, I care for who are all vetted and fiv/Felv neg... I do not want to put them at risk.
He is SUPER SIZED, very cool and VERY sweet! Just a vocal love! Great big Orange Man!

Honey is a sweet, warm, cuddling boy. He is a special needs kitty as he is FIV positive however the Veterinarian states that he is in good health. FIV positive cat needs home or foster care. Oreo is about six-years-old and very sweet. His health is good at this point. He was just neutered (Friday, March 21^st) after being rescued. He has what will be, beautiful long fur. I spent an hour-and-a-half cutting mats that were right down to his skin and he put up with all of it, laying down and purring! He still needs a bath, but that has to wait since he just had the neuter surgery yesterday. Oreo gets along well with other cats (someone with another FIV cat would be a great home for him) and children, but is very afraid of dogs. We had thought that we had a foster lined up, but when he tested positive that fell through. Now he is living on very borrowed time in our bathroom. I have 8 cats of my own and no 'spare' rooms - we only have the one bathroom. A lot of effort on the part of a lot of individuals went into rescuing and neutering this boy. We will all be devastated if he has to be euthanized.

Lamont was dumped into a feral colony. He is the sweetest, most loving boy you could want. He loves to sit on your lap and turn over for belly rubs. He is very affectionate and extremely gentle. He lets you do anything you want to him. He is 2-3 yrs old, neutered and fully vaccinated. He recently had complete dental work done and is now 100% healthy except for his felv+ status. He eats well, always uses his litterbox and loves to play. But his favorite past time is cuddling with a human. We recently took in a cat that the neighbor booted out the door before xmas. He is a young cat, maybe 3-5 yrs of age, we had him neutered, and found out he has aids. The problem is the neighbor will not even talk to us about the cat, we have him in our home temporarily, but we have another cat that just had kittens not to long ago, and a 19month old granddaughter with bad allergies. Due to the granddaugters allergies for one we have to find homes for the cats. We have a home for the mommy cat when its time. Murry is an adult male cat with FIV. We have had the Western Blot Test done, and it came back positive. I have other cats that are NOT FIV+ and do not wish to put them together. We are having to keep Murry separate in a bedroom. He would be much happier in a home where he could have the run of the house.
Murry is 3-5 years old. He is very sweet and affectionate. He loves to purr and sit in your lap. He has been neutered and litter trained. He does very well with children, as well. He would adapt easily and quickly to a new home.
Murry would be a great addition to a home with no other cats, or to a home with other FIV+ cats.

North Hollywood, CA: Little Rusti was abandoned as a kitten and survived by finding a feral cat colony to live with. Her sad start left her with one eye and she has tested positive for the leukemia virus. When we found her, she stood apart from the ferals because she was so affectionate even after her incredibly rough start. When we trapped her, she started purring at the sound of our voices, even while in the trap, and would roll over while having her neck rubbed. She is only six months to a year old and truly could not be more cuddly. We would keep her but we have other cats and can't have them interact because she tested positive. My sister found Buster a few months ago and took him in to the Vet. to have him neutered to help keep the stray cat population down. He tested FIV positive at that time and had a bad case of Ringworm plus an ear infection. Since my sister has 8 cats (all rescues), and I have 6 (all rescues), neither of us can take him. We've exhausted all of our cat resources and don't know where else to turn. Buster does fine outside and is fully recovered from the Ringworm, but we're afraid he'll get it again because of his suppressed immune system. He is such a sweetheart and was so good for the oral and topical medication my sister had to give him for 6 weeks - he'd just lie there and purr while she rubbed his antifungal lotion in. He even lets her hold him like a baby! Like the rest of the cats on this web site, Buster would make someone a wonderful pet. It's killing her not to be able to take him in, but one of her cats already pees in the house because she has too many cats! Micki is one of 60 plus abandoned cats/kittens rescued from a foreclosure home in the east end of Cincinnati, OH. This sad situation made the local news as rescuers came together to save the cats. Micki is one of six "foreclosure" kittens taken in by the Neighborhood Cat Helpers (NCH) and is the only one still in our care. Ashton is a handsome 4-month old gray kitten who was rescued from a feral cat colony in Dallas, Texas. His foster parents were able to tame young Ashton who became a very sweet and playful kitten, although a bit shy at first encounters with strangers. Ashton was a prime candidate for adoption, but he tested positive for Feline Leukemia (Elisa and IFA). His fosters have no place to isolate Ashton and cannot expose him to the other fosters and their own cats. Ashton has been placed in a Dallas County no-kill shelter with other FeLV cats. My fiance and I recently had a cat 'pick' us. He showed up on our doorstep. He is either a stray or lost but no one has claimed him. We were going to keep him because he is a loving, friendly guy. The problem is that when I brought him to the vet yesterday for his shots, he tested positive for Feline Leukemia. This is very upsetting to me because
1. he is a great little guy and
2. we already have 2 other cats
I just can't take the chance of him spreading it to them. I've had them for years and they are older cats. Luckily we have had them separated but it is difficult as we live in a 1 BR apartment. I don't want to just drop him off at the SPCA because I know he would just get scheduled for euthanasia.
He is an all white male, not neutered. Probably about a year old. He has had his first set of shots. I would be more than willing to make some kind of monetary donation OR cat supply donation if we could just find him a home.

Puff does'nt sit around worrying about the future. When I enter the bathroom where he lives day in day out, he isn't curled up in a ball depressed about his life.
On the contrary, this happy, vital kitten is full of life and optimism. When I open the door into his world he is delighted for the company. We play chase the mouse and the ball, which he loves to pick up and hide in his bed so he can have fun uncovering it again. He climbs all over me, giving kisses and rubbing against me to claim me as all his.
He does't understand why when I leave his world he can't come with me. Why although he can hear the other cats beyond the bathroom he cant meet them and make friends. Nor does he know about the dilemma I have found myself in regarding the responsibility of ensuring a future for him and a happy one.
Puff belonged to an elderly lady with health problems. I was the transport driver who picked up 10 kittens from her home to take them to rescue. Puff was , once neutered supposed to return home. Now though thats not possible, the lady is not able to be responsible for a special kitty like Puff. You see, Puff has tested positive for Feline Leukemia.
He does need to be re tested to be certain but if positive at that time he will likely have the disease for life. Leukemia means Puff needs better than average care. He should not be in a multi cat home where his more vunerable immune system will be exposed to increased stress. Nor should chances be taken that he should pass this virus on to other cats ( Whilst healthy cats unless bitten are fairly resistant there is no sense in taking any chances and kittens are three times more vulnerable).
He will need an observant owner and routine care like dentals and vaccines that are advised for all cats will be even more important for Puff. His lifespan may also be shorter than were he Leukemia free.
With permission from his former owner I am reaching out to see if that rare individual, a compassionate and responsible person who does not already have a cat or who perhaps has another Leukemia positive kitty can be found to give Puff the future this happy little guy, blissfully unaware of his condition is expecting.
I would truely appreciate anyone recieving this email and unable to assist directly passing it on. There is someone out there who could benefit greatly from this charming, gregarious soul in their life. And Puffs future depends on finding them. A bathroom should not be Puffs world forever.
As I write, from the bathroom I can hear the familiar sound of Puff crashing into the door as he chases down his ball. He believes the future is bright. Together maybe we can prove him right.

Maine Coone Cat : This guy is sweet! Very affectionate and loves kids. He showed up on our doorstep over a week ago. We planned to keep him and took him to the vet only to find out he was FIV positive. We have three other cats, so we can not keep him.
We did give him all his vaccines, dewormed, defleaed. He is a neutered male and absolutely a fantastic kitty.
We had hoped to feed him and let him roam our yard until we found a home, but our neighbor is concerned about her cat getting FIV and is talking about taking him and having him put down. To avoid this, I took him to our vet today and can afford to board him for a few days, maybe a week... The good news is that I have heard from a shelter that they will be able to take him as soon as they adopt out one of their special needs kitties - BUT they don't know how long this will take. My guess is, longer than I can afford to board him. So I need help quick. Looking either for a permanent home for him, or someone to foster him until the shelter has space! He is extremely sweet. Loves small kids and really wants to be a house cat.

My owner put me out of the house because the “Lady” feline of the house had kittens and didn’t want me around anymore. My Foster Mom fed me in the parking lot for 4 months and finally took me in only to find I am FIV+, whatever that means, I feel fine….affectionate, kneading gently while pushing my head into the sofa for love and enjoy playing with my “mousy.” Now my foster mom’s “Lady” Feline is not taking to me well…hence the title of my ad!! This beautiful boy is perfectly healthy, non-aggressive and tired of living in the bedroom with the occasional attempt to get along with the “Lady” of the house.

I am a receptionist at a veterinary hospital in Huntington, WV and we are currently boarding two 'special needs' cats that are in need of homes. I just recently adopted a kitten that tested FELV negative. Now three months later, i have discovered that the kitten i brought home is FELV Positive. Yodel, from South Jersey, is about 4 and was living with a woman who had to be hospitalized after losing the use of her arms, then she went to a nursing home permanently. He and 15 others were taken by various groups in hopes to place them in loving homes. He is super sweet, very vocal and loves to hug your shoulders and nuzzle the under side of your chin. He holds his tail up high and walks with confidence. He is very social with humans and other cats. He greets all the new cats and is always saying "HI" to all the kitties, whether they want him to or not.
